SUMMARY:Seminar on Weather Basics - session 2
DESCRIPTION:Member Al Pszenny will present a two-part U.S. Power Squadrons seminar that introduces the basics of our mid-latitude weather\, professional forecasts and their sources\, and the use of observations to refine professional forecasts. Topics include: \n\nWhat causes weather\nHow weather systems move\nWhy winds blow\nWhat clouds tell us\nHow storms and fronts create bad weather\nWhy fog forms\nWhere to get the best professional forecasts\nHow to refine them using your own observations\n\nPresentations will be on Monday evenings\, July 22nd and August 5th\, 7 to 8:30 pm at the club. Cost is $15 for SWYC and/or Power Squadron members\, $20 for others. You will get a 22-page reference guide containing a summary of major points covered in the slide presentations and including a table of forecasting tips and a list of internet weather resources. \nPlease sign up at the club or by email to alex_pszenny@my.uri.edu by June 14th. Be sure to note whether you want the reference guide or not and how many others will accompany you.
