Sold your boat and have boxes of zincs\, cleats\, line\, sailboat hardware taking up your storage area? Need a winch handle and don’t want to spend $70? Our first ever nautical flea market on June 10 from 12 to 3 is for you! \n  \nUsing the regular flea market format we will have ten tables outside available at the ridiculously high price of price of $5/table\, payable at the door. First come first reserved. Reserve your table by emailing Lou at quiltedsailor@verizon.net. A few thigs to consider: \n  \n\nNautical items only\, although nautical outerwear (fowlies\, sea boots\, “like new” SWYC sweatshirts that you outgrew) are acceptable.\nWe will utilize the glass top tables so be prepared to display heavier items on the deck.\nAll items must be lumped in and out using club or personal carts. No vehicles allowed in the park.\nNo heavy items such as engines\, transmissions please.  If you have those items bring pictures for display.\nNo rain date\, if we have to cancel you will have to keep your stuff until next year\nThe club will supply one table per person\, again see restrictions about glass top tables.\nAll sold and unsold items must be removed from the club at the end of the event. No “stories” at the club. There is a potluck supper/game night in the evening.\nMost of the deck will be used for the event but the east veranda and inside tables will be available for general use. DESCRIPTION:Greeting fellow members. Once again\, we will be hosting a wine tasting at the club to support the Veterans appreciation day. This is a “no charge” event\, but it is intended to be a fundraiser. We ask that you donate or participate in our raffle.  The goal is to raise $500.00 to offset the costs to the club for our veteran’s cookout. \nLast year we made the tasting a Potluck as well. If you have a dish you would like to share\, please bring it. I will be pouring from 5:30-7:30\, but the night does not have to end there. If there is still food and wine on the table\, the fun should continue. Most importantly glassware at the club is always at a premium. Please bring your own glass. DESCRIPTION:Dear Friends\nAs the 2021 season is coming to a close\, we’d like to have one last get together invite you to a German inspired Oktoberfest. The Munich Octoberfest draws annually up to 6 million visitors. It started as a horse race on the meadow in the city to celebrate the wedding of Prince Ludwig to Princess Theresa on October\, 15th in 1810. It was such a success and people were drawn to the wedding\, the city decided in 1811 to celebrate harvest with an annual agricultural fair (like the Topsfield fair).\nMunich\, being the beer capital of Germany and the inventor of the lager beer\, the event eventual morphed into today’s Bier.\nMore? see the official website in English https://www.oktoberfest.de/\nUnfortunately\, the 2021 event was canceled again as in 2020.\nThe typical foods served at the fair are a whole roasted steer on the spit\, spit roasted Chicken and whole roasted Pigs. \nDue to space limitations and time constraints at the club we refrained form the Ox and pigs on a spit (spit roasted chicken you can get in every supermarket) we decided to have authentic similar specialties.\nWe will be serving\nBavarian Cured bratwurst with Elvira’s Potato salad and Braised Red Cabbage\, Black Forest Knockwurst with Braised apple Sauerkraut and Pretzels. And for dessert\, individual Black Forest Cake.\nTo cover the cost we are asking for a $8 per person\, non refundable when you sign up for this event.\nWe will serve at noon on October 9th 2021. Remember\, because these are special order items on the menu\, if you sign up and don’t show up\, you will still be responsible for paying.\nBring your own adult or non-adult beverage ( beer).and lederhosen and Dirndl are encouraged.\nElvira and Wolfgang \nBTW\nWhat is the difference between Lager and Ale beer?\nUntil the 15 century the Beer yeast available could ferment the wort only in warm temperature. Than a new discovered Yeast could suddenly ferment the wort a lower temperature. So\, the brewer could brew the beer also in wintertime. The beer was then stored in limestone caves near Munich for the prolonged fermentation and storage. These cave where loaded in winter with ice blocks to keep the temperature around 40deg F. That is the reason for the name Lager\, which means warehouse in German. P.S. where did this new yeast came from? Lately\, with modern genome testing it was discovered that that this new type of yeast may have its origin from Patagonia (Chile) where a similar specimen was found. Maybe a fruit fly brought this innovation on Magellan’s ship back to Europe. CHEERS

DESCRIPTION:10 years ago\, the club started the summer solstice celebration to celebrate the start of the summer. It became a popular event every year but unfortunately last year the event had to be canceled and this year the Covid 19 situation was still too unpredictable at the time of planning.\n\nNow with the successful vaccination program in Massachusetts the confidence level is high\, and restrictions removed. So\, I like to celebrate a belated start of the summer with the other successful festivity in 2011: A Spanish Fiesta.\n\nPlease advise if you are interest in this event on July 24 th at 6:00pm. I will limit the participation for a minimum of 30 and maximum of 40 people to keep some social distancing. I will try to stay within a budget of 15$ per person.\n\nThe menu will include authentic Tapas appetizer\, Spanish Paella\, Estofado\, Vegetarian Paella\, and more as well as Flan for dessert. However\, I will also serve a hot smoked\, whole salmon because it became such a signature dish\, I had to offer it.\n\nAll food will be served via buffet like by masked and gloved volunteers to keep this as comfortable for everyone as possible.\n\nPlease send me an email to wscholz@comcast.net\, number of participants\, if you like to help for set up  or preparation or clean up.\n\nRemember hours will count to your working hours assignment.\n\nThis will be the only way to sign up as\, there will be no signup at the club.\n\nLooking forward seeing you all in person in the new normalcy\n\nWolfgang Scholz

Not as fruit forward as some\, there are delicate hints of red berry fruits and\, floral notes. \nToad Hollow Rose of Pinot Noir (CA)- This Rosé has aromas of fresh-picked raspberries\, rose petal\, and orange blossoms. Flavors are snappy with watermelon\, wild strawberry\, and a touch of clove. The finish is crisp with acidity and a note of red licorice candy. \nLolea #4 Organic Sangria (Spain)- A delicious wine made certified organic Grenache blended with lemon juice and cardamon. Best served ice cold\, or over ice. The good thing about sangria is that it also makes a great base for other mixed cocktails. \nEsperto Pinot Grigio (Italy)- The Pinot Grigio grape\, a genetic mutation of Pinot Noir from France\, gets its name from the Italian word “grigio”\, which means grey. This is due to the fact that the grape’s skin color ranges from bluish gray to raspberry-pink. As Napoleon’s armies marched across the European continent\, they brought grapes with them. It was during this time that the Pinot Grigio vine took root in Northeastern Italy. \nVilla Maria Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand)- Sourced from vineyards across the Marlborough region\, this intense Sauvignon Blanc is alive with a myriad of flavors dominated by gooseberry\, passionfruit\, fresh citrus\, and herbaceous aromas. A classic style SB from New Zealand \nLa Crema Monterey Chardonnay (CA)- A bright\, crisp\, and exotic Chardonnay from the cool climate of Monterey\, California. On the nose\, Meyer Lemon\, passionfruit\, grilled pineapple and guava. Nectarine papaya and crisp lemon-tangerine notes are complimented by touch of spice and complexing minerality on the palate. \nHaut Blanville Pinot Noir (France)- This smooth\, clean Pinot Noir tempts with a bouquet of fruit that displays nuances of violet and bruised petals. The palate is medium to full bodied\, bright\, and juicy with a well-integrated acidity and notes of strawberry and spice. \nTroublemaker Red Blend (CA)- Troublemaker is inspired by those early days of pushing boundaries and finding your path. Still stirring things up\, we here at Troublemaker are all about challenging the status quo and embracing the journey of life. A big and forward wine from Paso Robles blended from Syrah\, Grenache\, Mourvedre\, Zinfandel\, and Petite Sirah individually aged between 15-27 months. \nMatchbook Cabernet Sauvignon- Matchbook Estate Bottled Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from grapes grown entirely in our Dunnigan Hills vineyards. The wine opens with the beautiful varietal aromas of mocha\, leather\, and toasty oak. Plush flavors of blackberry\, vanilla\, deep red fruit\, and olive tapenade are rich and mouth-coating. The dense flavors surround the tannins for a finish that is well-structured and smooth. \nVilla Antinori Rosso Toscano- Originally created in 1928 this has become a fine-tuned blend of Sangiovese\, Cabernet\, Merlot and Syrah. It is deep ruby red in color. Its nose is intense\, and complex defined by notes of wild berries; blueberries and black currants\, and notes of toasted hazelnuts\, spices\, and vanilla. A full-bodied palate is well rounded with supple velvety tannins and a long savory finish.
