DESCRIPTION:The Coast Guard Auxiliary will be conducting courtesy Vessel Exams on Saturday\, June 26. Due to relaxed COVID 19 restrictions we will be able to do the exams on the moorings\, so there is no need to bring your boats to the main float. This change means we can start the Vessel Exams at 8:30 am instead of waiting for the tide. DESCRIPTION:The United States Coast Guard Barque Eagle is sailing toward Salem this summer!  She will arrive mid-morning on Friday\, August 9 and she will be in port a Salem Wharf\, 10 Blaney Street\, until August 12. \nEAGLE\, also known as “America’s Tall Ship” is the largest tall ship flying the Stars and Stripes and the only square-rigger in U.S. government service. The ship was built in 1936 in Germany\, and commissioned as Horst Wessel\, one of three sail training ships operated by the pre-World War II German navy. At the close of World War II\, Horst Wessel was taken as a war reparation by the United States\, recommissioned as the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle and sailed to New London\, Connecticut.
