The Coast Guard Auxiliary will be conducting courtesy Vessel Exams on Saturday, June 26. Due to relaxed COVID 19 restrictions we will be able to do the exams on the moorings, so there is no need to bring your boats to the main float. This change means we can start the Vessel Exams at 8:30 am instead of waiting for the tide. If you wish to sign up for your courtesy exam, PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL- rather send an email to Anne Olenio at:
In preparation for boating season this year, now is a good time to check your USCG required equipment and replace any equipment that is outdated or worn out. This year’s SWYC Annual USCG Auxiliary Vessel Inspection Day is scheduled for Saturday June 26th. There will be “Federal Equipment Requirements and Safety Booklets” available inside the Club in advance of the event. Be sure to take a look at requirements and purchase new flares or fire extinguishers in advance, if needed.
This year, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will be doing the Vessel Exams on the dock beginning at 10:00 for shallow draft boats and doing deep draft boats by high tide. A signup sheet will be posted on the Club bulletin board around the first week of June.
