For all those sailors out there, we are planning one long distance race from Salem to Scituate and three shorter races in the Salem Sound this summer. Mark these dates in your calendar:
● Long Distance Race – Salem to Scituate, Wednesday June 17 followed by a dinner in Scituate. Returning on Thursday to Salem on a casual return cruise or continuing further down your cruise.
● Firecracker 500 Race — Sunday July 5th starting at noon, followed by the traditional 4th of July barbeque at the Club at 3 PM
● Heritage Days Race — Sunday August 9th at 3 PM, followed with an ice cream social at 7 PM.
● Fall Classic Race — Saturday September 12th at 3 PM with a potluck dinner and award ceremony afterwards starting at 6 PM at the Club.

Select the races you are planning on participating with your sailboat and click the submit button at the bottom of the page (one registration per boat). On the next page, it will ask you for your name, phone, email and boat information. We will send more detailed information about each race to those who sign up when we get closer to the dates. (Note that the social events will require a separate sign up).
We are looking for a committee boat for the three short distance races in Salem to man the start (and finish) line. If you are interested in volunteering to act as the committee boat for any of these races, please contact me. (This relaxing time on the water can be used towards your assessment hours for 2027.)
We also have a couple events in the planning phase for all motor boats and sailboats. The traditional and all fun Invasion of the South Shore Yacht Club in South Weymouth will take place at the Willows this year on the weekend of July 11th & 12th. More information will be coming in an upcoming JibSheet and email blast.
We are also planning a day outing for both sailboats and motorboats to join in. More information will be forthcoming. Stay tune!
