Boat Wiring Seminar on Jun 10

Confused by your boat’s wiring? Have a jumble of 34 wires on each battery terminal? And don’t know what they are for? Wonder why your boat wires are as thick as your thumb and limp while and your house wires are thin and stiff?
Come to our Famous (if every Roast Beef place can be famous, why not our seminar?) DC Boat Wiring Seminar on Sunday, June 10 at 6PM at in the clubhouse presented by Lou Schoenthal and Tom McLaughlin. Lou and Tom are retired electrical engineering professionals and sailors with more years of wiring and sailing experience then they care to make public.
A PowerPoint presentation (if we can get the projector to work) on wiring theory and wiring standards will be followed by a practical demonstration of crimping, shrinking, using proper connectors etc.
Bring drinks and snacks, this is very informal!

Above and Below the Waves: Developing Maritime Archaeology Programs in Massachusetts

Dr. Calvin Mires is Professor of Maritime Archaeology, and has run summer field schools in maritime archaeology at Salem State University since 2015. These field programs archaeologically investigated a 19th century sand schooner, Ada K. Damon, at Crane Estate near Ipswich. He has partnered with the Massachusetts Board of Underwater Archaeological Resources, The Trustees of Reservations, NPS Salem Maritime National Historic Site and the Tallship, Fame, to provide educational courses for middle school to college students. Before coming to Massachusetts, he was the staff archaeologist for one of only four graduate schools in the country that taught maritime archaeology. He has participated in more than 30 projects around the world covering a myriad of time periods from 4th century BC to WWII, and has trained over a 100 students, many of whom are now leaders in the field.
