Summer SailingProgramsby Sail Salem Salem, Mass.,February10,2025—Sail Salem is again providing summer sailing camps for youths ages 8 to 18; andAdultLearn–to–Sail Programs. Each Youth Program runs one week, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM, and is based on Winter Island with its access to Salem Harbor. The programs include on–shore sailing instruction, on–the– water sailing under the guidance of certified sailing instructors, and an on–land STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, Mathematics) curriculum.Younger sailors learn in Opti sailboats while older youth sail in 420s and Sonars.Thesesailing camps begin the week of June 23and extend through August 22.Tuition is $320 per one–week session with a maximum registration of two weeks per student. Financialassistance may be available based upon confirmation of financial need. The Adult Learn–to–Sail program is designed for people who want to learn the joys of sailing in Salem Harbor but who have little to no sailing experience. Classes are limited to 6 students per session, and will meet in the late afternoon, once a week, for5 weeks during the summer. Our Launch License course a 2-day Saturday and Sunday class.
Register you staff or potential employees now as the USCG turnaround for licenses is 3 to 6 months. This will ensure that staff is ready to go for next season!
In addition, we also offer these courses VIRTUALLY with a live instructor in the classroom.
In-Command Seamanship Training (ICST), located in Wickford RI, is THE
leading provider for both Recreational Boating Classes and USCG Approved Captain Licensing Courses.
ICST offers 6 Pack (OUPV), Launch License, Launch Lab – on the water training for launch operators
ICST is the ONLY certified training and testing center in New England for
US Powerboating, Boat US Foundation, Rhode Island Department of
Environmental Management (RI-DEM) and Massachusetts Environmental Police (MEP).
ICST has partnered with many organizations to create customized training
programs, at their locations, including Corinthian Yacht Club, Westerly Fire Department, North Providence Public Schools, Boston BoatWorks, Watch Hill Yacht Club, Weekapaug Yacht Club and Boston Engineering to name just a few.
