Sail Salem 2025 Program

Summer Sailing Programs by Sail Salem
Salem, Mass., February 10, 2025 Sail Salem is again providing summer sailing camps
for youths ages 8 to 18; and Adult LearntoSail Programs. Each Youth Program runs one
week, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM, and is based on Winter Island
with its access to Salem Harbor. The programs include onshore sailing instruction, onthe
water sailing under the guidance of certified sailing instructors, and an onland STEAM
(Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, Mathematics) curriculum. Younger sailors
learn in Opti sailboats while older youth sail in 420s and Sonars. These sailing camps begin
the week of June 23 and extend through August 22. Tuition is $320 per oneweek session
with a maximum registration of two weeks per student. Financial assistance may be
available based upon confirmation of financial need.
The Adult LearntoSail program is designed for people who want to learn the joys of sailing
in Salem Harbor but who have little to no sailing experience. Classes are limited to 6
students per session, and will meet in the late afternoon, once a week, for 5 weeks during
the summer.
Classes are usually fully subscribed, so early registration is recommended. Program details
and online registration may be found on the Sail Salem Web site, sailsalem.org.
Registration for Salem residents opens on February 17, and for nonSalem residents on
March 1. Sail Salem, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported by donations and
volunteers. Please contact us for more information.
