Hi Folks – right around the corner near winter island you’ll notice that Abbott Rock was destroyed (again) over the winter. If you want to support its reconstruction please add your contact info and forward to the USCG below. Normally we’d have this posted at the club, but with limited operations underway we wanted to ensure everyone had an opportunity to support this.

Subject: Abbott Rock – Petition for Restoration _ Project No. 01-19-074
We, the undersigned, petition the US Coast Guard Auxiliary to support rebuilding of the Abbott Rock Day Beacon (Light list No. 10065) and (Project No. 01-19-074) located between Winter Island and Juniper Point abutting the Federal Shipping Channel in Salem Harbor.

Hello SWYC Members,
On Saturday, May 18th at 6:00 pm, the SWYC Board of Governors will be holding our annual open meeting at the club. All members are welcome to attend and see how the club operates behind the scenes with the best interest of the members in mind! A light meal will be served!
If you wish to participate in any discussion, please raise your hand, wait to be called upon, then simply state your name and pose your question or comment.
Guest Speakers!!!
Once the meeting concludes, we will be hosting several guests from the “Friends of the Boston Harbor Islands”. They will be sharing a bit of history, general information, activities and events, as well as boating privileges and access to the islands, which should be interesting to both boaters and land lovers alike!.
Jodi and I look forward to seeing you there! Please sign up here no later than Wednesday, May 15 if you will be attending so we can plan accordingly.
There will be two member wine tastings for SWYC members. As glassware can be limited in the clubhouse we encourage you to bring your favorite glass. Feel free to bring a dish to share too.
May 25th, 6-8PM
The first will be a welcome back celebration, and a toast to the new season. Bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles to taste.
Whether you like Champagne, Prosecco, Cave, Cremant de Limoux, Rose…etc. There will be something to try. There will be so much fizz you will think you are riding in the Wonka-mobile.
This event is free to members, but we will need to cap it at 30 people.
July 19th, 6-8PM
We will be hosting an event similar to last year. A tasting with wines from around the world. Come and enjoy a mix of Whites and Reds from all over the world. Hard to say what it will be yet, but safe to say Cali, Washington, Oregon, France, Italy, Spain, South Africa and beyond.
This event is free to members, but we will need to cap it at 30 people.
Stay tuned for registration details.
