SWYC COVID-19 Response

SWYC Deck, Float, House and Launch rules during COVID-19 based on State guidelines

Updated 5/29/21

In accordance with the state’s May 29th COVID-19 guidance the SWYC COVID-19 team is pleased to rescind all SWYC COVID-19 Rules and protocols.
The team strongly encourages all non-vaccinated members and guests to follow the state guidance in wearing masks and social distancing in order to minimize the potential spread of the virus by non-symptomatic carriers.
Please bear in mind that some at-risk members may feel more comfortable continuing mask and social distancing protocol and we ask all to respect their choice.
The COVID team wishes to express their gratitude to the Board of Governors for their unwavering support of the team’s efforts, and their dedication to preserving the health and safety of the membership.
The team would also like to express their appreciation to the SWYC membership for their cooperation and patience during this past year of challenge and uncertainty, and wishes all a happy and healthy 2021 boating season.
Now, let’s all enjoy all the wonderful things Salem Willows Yacht Club has to offer.

Open Members Meeting

Hello SWYC Members,

On Saturday, May 18th at 6:00 pm, the SWYC Board of Governors will be holding our annual open meeting at the club. All members are welcome to attend and see how the club operates behind the scenes with the best interest of the members in mind!  A light meal will be served!

If you wish to participate in any discussion, please raise your hand, wait to be called upon, then simply state your name and pose your question or comment.

Guest Speakers!!!

Once the meeting concludes, we will be hosting several guests from the “Friends of the Boston Harbor Islands”. They will be sharing a bit of history, general information, activities and events, as well as boating privileges and access to the islands, which should be interesting to both boaters and land lovers alike!.

Jodi and I look forward to seeing you there!  Please sign up here no later than Wednesday, May 15 if you will be attending so we can plan accordingly.

Sincerely,
Tony Brooks

Wine Night at the Willows. Hosted by Vicki Bradford, and poured by Geoff Ghertler

There will be two member wine tastings for SWYC members. As glassware can be limited in the clubhouse we encourage you to bring your favorite glass. Feel free to bring a dish to share too.

May 25th, 6-8PM
The first will be a welcome back celebration, and a toast to the new season. Bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles to taste.
Whether you like Champagne, Prosecco, Cave, Cremant de Limoux, Rose…etc. There will be something to try. There will be so much fizz you will think you are riding in the Wonka-mobile.

This event is free to members, but we will need to cap it at 30 people.

Please register here.

July 19th, 6-8PM
We will be hosting an event similar to last year. A tasting with wines from around the world. Come and enjoy a mix of Whites and Reds from all over the world. Hard to say what it will be yet, but safe to say Cali, Washington, Oregon, France, Italy, Spain, South Africa and beyond.

This event is free to members, but we will need to cap it at 30 people.

Stay tuned for registration details.
